BBCrew Dutch Oven 8 L
Skandika and the YouTube stars Sauerländer BBCrew have long been a well-established team when it comes to outdoor cooking. Now there is a BBCrew special edition of the Skandika Dutch Oven - developed and tested by the professional chefs themselves!
The Dutch Oven is the epitome of freedom and the campfire feeling. Originally favoured by the cowboys and trappers of North America, the "pot" now also enjoys great popularity in our modern world. It enhances every outdoor adventure with delicious dishes, is versatile and easy to use. The Dutch Oven can be used anywhere, whether in the embers of a campfire, in a charcoal grill on briquettes or in the oven at home. Not only classics such as layered meat in a cast iron pot - cinnamon buns, bread or cakes can also be prepared perfectly. Whether for cooking, roasting, braising, grilling, deep-frying, steaming or baking - the pot makes it possible!
The special feature of this special edition is the enamelling of the pot and lid. The resistant protective coating has very good non-stick properties and also protects against rust formation - advantages not only for cooking, but also for maintenance! Unlike the slowly built-up patina of a conventional cast iron pot, the enamel layer is not pre-baked, wiped away or damaged by water. Dishes can also be stored safely in this enamelled pot. After use, the Dutch Oven can even be cleaned in the dishwasher or simply with hot water and a little washing-up liquid.
The feet of this Dutch oven have also been optimised. Thanks to the special shape of the feet, the Dutch Oven is now stable and secure. Even on the grill grate. The feet have been designed extra high so that there is also room for larger briquettes under the Dutch Oven and sufficient air can circulate.
As with all Skandika Dutch Ovens, we have placed particular emphasis on the material thickness. The pot is extremely thick-walled and therefore has excellent heat storage properties. An even base thickness prevents uneven cooking or burning. If glowing coals or briquettes are also placed on the tight-fitting lid, this results in constant top/bottom heat and food is cooked even more evenly. Speaking of the lid - it has an additional function as an open pan and is therefore equipped with sturdy feet for a secure stand.
An additional clever detail is the recess in the pan and in the edge of the lid, which can be opened or closed depending on the position of the lid. This allows the core temperature of the meat in the pot to be monitored with a thermometer if required. The opening is also practical if there is too much liquid in the cast iron pot, as this can evaporate easily through the hole. The arrow on the top of the lid marks the position of the notch and makes it easier to find the correct setting when closing the lid.
This special edition includes not only the Dutch Oven, but also a practical lid lifter, a wooden cooking spoon and a barbecue glove in the BBCrew design. The new, third recipe book from the Sauerland BBCrew is also included. The whole thing comes in a robust BBCrew cotton carrier bag with rucksack function, which can be used not only to store the pot, but also for shopping.
Dutch Oven care paste (250 ml)"
The stoving and care paste from Skandika is perfect for use on uncoated, non-enamelled Skandika Dutch ovens and can also be used on other cast and wrought iron products, such as pans and woks, grill grates and accessories, roasters, etc. The care balm is made exclusively from natural ingredients in Germany. It is odourless and tasteless, food-safe, vegan and gluten-free. The paste penetrates the coarse-pored cast iron when heated during the baking process, vaporising and effectively sealing the cast iron. The paste is applied to the cast-iron cookware after cleaning, and regular use of the paste builds up the patina on cast-iron products. This prevents the formation of rust stains and protects the cookware for a long time. The patina also gives the cookware better non-stick properties and thus reduces the risk of food burning. The care paste is also available as a set together with useful accessories and cleaning items. The set is not suitable for non-stick coated and enamelled products.

A Dutch Oven means freedom and authenticity. With our Skandika Flame Master, freedom can be enjoyed far away from civilisation by preparing a delicious meal. All you need is a little wood and a fire. Of course, the cast iron pot can also be put in the oven, but did the settlers in America 300 years ago have ovens?
With the Skandika Flame Master Dutch Oven, we have placed particular emphasis on material thickness, low casting defects and an even base thickness so that our pots can be used to prepare delicious dishes and stews. The cast iron used is extremely thick-walled and therefore has excellent heat storage properties. A special feature of the Dutch Oven is that glowing coal can also be placed on top of it to generate heat from above. The result then corresponds to the heat supply from all sides in an oven.
A clever detail of our Flame Master is the recess in the pot and in the edge of the lid, which can be opened or closed depending on the position of the lid. This allows the core temperature of the meat in the pot to be monitored with a thermometer if required. Dutch Oven Flame Master Square 7.4 litres
The Dutch Oven is the epitome of freedom and the campfire feeling. Originally favoured by the cowboys and trappers of North America, the 'pot' is now also very popular in our modern world. It enhances every outdoor adventure with delicious dishes and is as versatile as it is easy to use. The Dutch Oven can be used anywhere, whether in the embers of a campfire or in a charcoal barbecue, but also in the kitchen at home on the hob or in the oven.
With the Skandika Flame Master Dutch Oven, we have placed particular emphasis on the material thickness. The pot is extremely thick-walled and therefore has excellent heat storage properties. An even base thickness prevents the food from cooking unevenly or burning. If glowing coals or briquettes are also placed on the tight-fitting lid, this results in constant top/bottom heat and food is cooked even more evenly. The lid is also perfect as a grill pan. The grooves on the inside ensure that meat and vegetables do not simmer in their own juices, but are roasted nicely in the hot pan, giving them the classic grill pattern and flavour.
In addition to the round Skandika Dutch Oven, there is now also this version without feet and in a rectangular shape. With its smooth base, the pot can be placed securely on any type of grid, whether on the barbecue or in the oven, without wobbling or causing scratches. This allows you to enjoy culinary delights with a campfire feeling even on the balcony or in the kitchen at home on the hob.
A clever detail of our Flame Master is the recess in the pot and in the edge of the lid, which can be opened or closed depending on the position of the lid. This allows the core temperature of the meat in the pot to be monitored with a thermometer if required. The opening is also practical if there is too much liquid in the cast iron pot, as it can evaporate easily through the hole.
The Skandika Dutch Oven is not only perfect for classic dishes such as layered meat. Cinnamon buns, bread or cakes can also be prepared perfectly in the cast iron pot. Whether for cooking, roasting, braising, grilling, deep-frying, steaming or baking - the pot makes it all possible!
We've made sure that you don't run out of recipe ideas so quickly. Our blog posts on the Skandika website contain numerous new ideas for tasty treats and the ultimate Dutch Oven Guide is available for practical information and tips about the Dutch Oven.
The Skandika Flame Master is already pre-seasoned and can be used straight away. It is simply cleaned with hot water (without detergent) after use. For extra durability, we recommend rubbing the pot with oil afterwards. A robust carrying bag and 2 silicone heat protection handles are included.
